Overview of LMR400

Times Microwave's LMR-400 is designed for adaptability, low loss, RF shielding, and wearability. The LMR-400 has the narrowest bend radius of any cable of comparable size and performance due to its cable architecture. The cable has the lowest loss of any comparable cable. This cable offers 90 dB of RF shielding and is ideal for EMI-prone environments. The LMR-400 is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Use Times Microwave's LMR-400 cable for any application that necessitates a low-loss, conveniently routed RF cable (e.g. WLL, GPS, LMR, WLAN, WISP, WiMax, SCADA, Mobile Antennas). The LMR-400 cable can be used in place of an RG-8 cable.

Overview of LMR400’s Specifications

  • LMR400 is a 50 Ohm coaxial cable that is structurally and materially similar to RG58 but has a 2.74mm Dia Inner Conductor.

  • The Inner Conductor of the LMR400 is a solid bare copper-covered steel (BCCS).

  • LMR400 is a coaxial cable with two shields. Aluminum tape is used for the outer shield, while tinned copper is used for the Overall Braid.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

What is use of LMR-400 cable?
The LMR-400 coaxial cable is ideal for high-power HF applications or VHF/UHF applications. It is quite rigid due to its solid core conductor. The LMR 400 standard is a UV Resistant Polyethylene jacketed cable that has a 20-year outdoor life.
Is LMR400 waterproof?
LMR400 is the same as ordinary LMR with the added benefit of being waterproof. If the jacket is mistakenly damaged during installation or in the future, the waterproofing compound added in and around the foil/braid ensures continued reliable service.
What is better than LMR400?
RG-8, RG 213, and RG 214 coaxial cables are the same physical size as LMR-400, but their attenuation is up to 40% higher and their RF shielding performance is much worse.
Is LMR400 flexible?
The flexible L-com Microwave LMR-400 coax cable has a 50 Ohm impedance and is made by L-com Microwave. The LMR-400 is a low-loss flexible 50 Ohm coax cable with a 0.405-inch diameter and a Black PE jacket.
