According to a recent report by TrendForce, the global IC design companies achieved a record high revenue of $44.74 billion, representing a 17.8% QoQ growth, driven by the consumer peak season and the AI boom.

NVIDIA has demonstrated outstanding performance amidst the AI boom and has taken the lead in terms of revenue and market share, securing the top spot. The company's data center business has accounted for nearly 80% of its revenue and has been a key driver of its business growth.

Qualcomm has benefited from the launch of its new flagship AP, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and the release of new Android flagship smartphones in the second half of the year, achieving a QoQ revenue growth of 2.8% to approximately $7.37 billion.

Broadcom's AI server-related products have started to gain traction, driving a 4.4% QoQ revenue growth to around $7.2 billion in the third quarter.

AMD has experienced revenue growth of 8.2% QoQ, reaching $5.8 billion, driven by the increasing demand in the cloud and enterprise customer sectors. The company has introduced the 4th Gen EPYC server CPUs and has stocked up on laptops for the season, leading to growth in both data center and client divisions.

MediaTek has been influenced by the demand for inventory replenishment of smartphone APs, WiFi 6, and mobile/laptop PMICs, achieving a QoQ revenue growth of 8.7% to $3.47 billion in the third quarter.

Marvell has benefited from the high-speed network transmission demand driven by cloud-generated AI from its cloud customers, resulting in a 4.4% QoQ revenue growth to $1.39 billion in the third quarter.

Although there has been a sharp increase in AI-related orders, the prospects for recovery in some end-consumer sectors, such as TVs and network communications, remain uncertain. Some IC design companies have faced operational pressures in the second half of the year as customers primarily adopt short-term and urgent order placements.

Will Semiconductor has escaped the low inventory correction period of the past few quarters and achieved a significant QoQ revenue growth of 42.3% to $750 million, benefitting from the demand for Android smartphone components.

There has been a change in the tenth position as well, with Cirrus Logic, a US analog IC company, experiencing a substantial QoQ revenue growth of 51.7% to $480 million in the third quarter, displacing MPS.
